०९|It's complicated

Winter was almost here, the thick fog outside the window made it too translucent for the naked eyes to see through. Mihika slid down the window and closed her eyes, letting the cold air of early hours of the morning hit past her face. The sun wasn't out yet, the sky was shrouded in slight darkness. Getting discharged at four in the morning wasn't expected at all, the roads were emptier than ever. She'd never been out at such an early time on the road.

Aarush drove in silence, feeling his eyes stinging as he yawned for the umpteenth time. He hadn't slept for a long time, getting the last minute work done at the hospital added a lot to it from clearing the remaining amount of money to meeting up with the doctor for a last consultation. His eyes strayed back and forth from time to time, watching the road and stealing some glances of her shivering frame. They weren't far from home yet he couldn't help sliding up the open window wordlessly either.
